Questions about giving
Is my donation tax-deductible?
The National Wildfire Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Keep the emailed receipt for your records; if you need a written acknowledgement for a larger gift, email putthefireout@nwasolution.org.
Can I change or cancel a monthly donation?
Yes, at any time and without explanation. Email putthefireout@nwasolution.org from the address you donated with, tell us what you would like changed, and we will action it and confirm. Nothing is charged after that.
How is my card handled?
Payment is processed by Stripe. Choosing an amount here sends you to Stripe's own secure page, so your card number is never entered on this website and never reaches our servers. We see only the amount, the name and the email address you give Stripe.

Can I give another way — stock, a grant, a bequest?
Yes. For anything other than a card or a cheque, write to putthefireout@nwasolution.org and tell us what you have in mind. A person will reply.
Can I say what my gift should fund?
You can tell us your intention, and we will take it seriously, but we cannot guarantee a restriction on a small gift — unrestricted funding is what lets us follow a story that turns out to matter. Email us before giving if a restriction is a condition of your donation.
